Dear Family (that includes friends),
"If you lower your expectations, your effectiveness will decrease, your desire will weaken, and you will have greater difficulty following the Spirit" (PMG Pg. 11). This line has changed my mission and hopefully the rest of my life! After being sick and having to drop so many investigators I began to notice I wasn't holding myself to the standard that I should have been! Then at a leadership meeting we talked about how the zone wasn't teaching much and this line came to mind! We discussed how we could improve and become more effective servants of our Savior Jesus Christ! Well, let's just say I got fired up! The spirit in our district meeting was so strong and everyone had comments and insights that confirmed my assumption; I need to raise the bar! I need to rise to responsibilities! I need to strive for the potential that God sees in me!
Take a moment and think about it! We are children of an all powerful, all loving, perfect Heavenly Being! We are children of a God! We have potential to be like Him! In fact, He expects it and will give us whatever help we need if we seek the help of His perfect, beloved son, Jesus Christ! This gospel is amazing! When we understand who we are and what God expect of us, why would we lower what we expect of ourselves, others, or even limit the atonement in our lives? I am going to do all I can to raise my expectations!
So starting Wednesday night Elder Larson and I made preparations to push ourselves and increase our efforts to find and teach! As we did so God began to bless us with success! I can't even explain how much God has blessed us this week! We saw so many miracles. For example we had decided to knock doors on this one street! We decided to pray before knocking on each and every door! We found 4 new investigators on this one street! I have never seen so much success! I know that as we raise our expectations, pray for help, and faithfully follow through on our part, God will help us grow! I love this gospel and I love being His missionary!
Raise your expectations of what you can do! God has faith in you! There is no limit when you are living the gospel standard and asking God for help! I love this scripture:
Mark 9:23 "Jesus said unto him, if thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believe." Believe in God! Believe in our Savior! Believe that you can improve and be better! I love you all so much! Have a wonderful week!
Love, Your improvement seeking missionary,
Elder Tracy
